What is different about your knifemaking furnaces from other brands of furnaces?

Dropped, recessed brick grooves protect the heating elements. We avoid spacing the grooves too close together, which weakens the insulating firebricks.

The thermocouple is sheathed for long life. The thermocouple wire is kept inside the switch box for protection.

The rigid steel case protects the firing chamber better than a wrapped sheetmetal case.

The drop door counter-balance handle keeps the door closed tightly. The door swivels on a heavy steel rod with bearings. A chain holds the door in the open position and out of the way so you can remove hot blades without worrying about bumping into a swing door.

Paragon is using the reliable Orton digital temperature controller. Orton is well known for accuracy in the pottery field.

Paragon knifemaking furnaces include a door safety switch. It turns off the heating elements when you open the door, yet the temperature controller remains powered.
