FAQ/Answer

How do I adjust the switches on my SnF-82-3 so I can operate the kiln with a portable TnF2 controller?

Plug the TnF2 into the wall outlet. Install the thermocouple using the instructions that came with the TnF2, and plug the kiln into the TnF2.

Turn the top switch to MAX. Turn the second switch counter-clockwise about a quarter turn. Then turn it slowly clockwise until the pointer aligns with ON and you hear a double click. Load the Kiln Sitter with a small cone that is one to two cones hotter than the one you are firing to. This turns the Kiln Sitter into a safety backup. Turn the Kiln Sitter timer knob to about an hour past the expected shutoff time. Then program the TnF2 controller. After the kiln shuts off, turn the switches to the off position, or disconnect the kiln from the power.
