FAQ/Answer
What is the basic difference between the various SC models and the Caldera kiln? I am mostly interested in silver clay.
The Caldera is a firebrick kiln; the SC-series are ceramic fiber. The Caldera can fire up to 2350 degrees F; the SC-series fire up to 2000 degrees F.
You are interested in silver clay. But if you think you would one day like to fire porcelain or stoneware, you should buy the Caldera.
